I would have. She was a cranky old grandma. On second thought,,I would have shot her.
I'm definitely on Vinnie's side here:
1. He was acting perfectly respectful until she said, "I'm getting back in my car," when he had to physically hold her back from oncoming traffic.
2. After the incident, she interviewed with Fox and denied everything that the cop claimed happened. Since then, she has not interviewed. This proves that she wasn't just having a bad day, she is just a mean old woman.
3. The only reason he didn't hit her was because if he physically harmed her in any way, he would've been in a lawsuit. A jury always sides with the innocent old lady. A taser is a much safer way to handle a 72-year-old than a nightstick. She needed a jolt to realize that this cop wasn't going to let her drive away without getting a ticket. It's sad to hear an old lady screaming from a taser shock, but broken bones are way worse.
This is not a case of a dick cop, it's a case of a cranky lady.
I'd go with letting her get hit in oncoming traffic except for two considerations; the physical mess it would certainly create once her venom was spewed all over the roadway and that her stealy countenance would have certainly damaged cars and trucks beyond recognition, and the legal mess as her "estate" would certainly bog our courts down further with their frivolous lawsuit claiming that their "sweet, old" granny met a premature death at the hands of a reckless Officer. then I wonder why the Officer didn't just grab granny and 'cuff her....but I think this too would be fraught with trouble, injuries, and embarrassment. Maybe he should have just gotten into his cruiser and radioed for assistance...I can see the news coverage now! Of course, he could have pinned her between his cruiser and her truck...yeah, that'd be cooooool! In all, I am truly grateful that our kids DON'T have a granny like her!!! Law enforcement Officers really have their hands full!
