The Philly Open 2009

Maggotx and Tim E. took a road trip to Philly to participate in this year's Philly Open Disc Golf Tournament. a B Tier PDGA event......This course, one of the oldest in the nation, was founded in 1977.

Unfortunately Tim was unable to play due to his Rotator Cuff injury which will require surgery. Tim kept score for our group and helped us out.....The Wind was INTENSE....with gusts to 40 mph it made play very difficult.

At the end of the first round I was behind the leader by 5 strokes...with 3 of us tied for second. By the end of the second round I was able to end up with the low score, and winning the GrandMaster Division (over 50)...

In spite of the wind it was a superbly run tournament thanks to Dr. John G. Duesler, Jr (JD) and numerous others including The Friends of Sedgley Woods and The Big Dog.....

The Tournament T-Shirt and Tournament Disc included with the Player's Package, and the Maggotx Winnings......

The Cool Maggotx Disc Golf Basket Trophy.......

Already Looking forward to playing in 2010....great tournament......

Congratulations MX!!! Great win, grrrrreat trophy, and it sure sounds like you had a wonderful time with some great folks! Seems like Tim could've used a MOTORIZED BAR STOOL to perform his duties in comfort and style!

That is one VERY COOL TROPHY! Congrats MGX.
Maaaaaahhhhhk, the stool should make an appearance in Foulmouth. I would love to drive it up and down the streets of downtown falmouth slurping a martini and waving a baseball bat at all the yuppies going to WoodsHole

I like the whole "going green" aspect of disc golf! Not only do they make the trophy out of found items (i.e. the recycled plumbing from the recently refurbished Philadelphia sewer system) but there are also no pesky greens fees because the area of play is largely unkempt far forgotten areas of parks. This leads me to my favorite aspect of disc golf that regular golf doesn't afford you (besides the fact that my putter cost more than MAG's whole disc golf bag) is that there's no 90 degree cart rule! Since the grass is unneeded and already looks like crap it doesn't matter where the hell you walk! None the less, good job, we're proud! Go get'm tiger!

*You know you missed me Maaahhhk!

Yeah Morgie, missed your presence on the comment page like I miss the taste of pulverized teeth after traversing the southeast Expressway after negotiating The Big Dig tunnels!! And Vinman, what yuppies???? They're all O L D .... like you...and me!!!! And, I think that we all should check out what promises to be a thoroughly useless vehicle except for its potential as a grand buzz cruiser....the PUMA...brought to us by GM (Generally Morons) and the creative folks at Segway!!!

Better wear your helmet while driving that bar stool, don't need a crushed skull.
